ByteFrame (“ByteFrame”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a software studio based in Nairobi, Kenya. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit byteframe.co.ke (the “Site”) or get in touch with us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you contact us through our contact form, WhatsApp, email, or social media, you may share your name, email address, phone number, company name, and any details you choose to include in your message. You provide this information voluntarily.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the Site secure and running reliably.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser that record information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, roughly where in the world you are, and whether you have visited before. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. Google processes it under its own privacy policy, and your IP address is anonymised before storage. You can opt out entirely using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Local storage

We store a small preference in your browser’s local storage to remember your light/dark theme choice. This stays on your device, is not shared with us, and is not used to track you.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide quotes or proposals;
  • To deliver, maintain, and improve our services and the Site;
  • To communicate with you about a project you’ve started or asked about;
  • To keep the Site secure and prevent misuse.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. How We Share Information

We only share your information where necessary to operate, and never for sale. This may include:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site and communicate with you (for example, our hosting provider and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp);
  • Legal reasons, where we are required to share information to comply with the law or protect our rights.

4. Third-Party Services

The Site relies on a few third-party services that have their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics, used to measure how the Site is used, as described in section 1;
  • Google Fonts, used to load the typefaces you see on the Site;
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you message us via the WhatsApp button, your chat is handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy;
  • Our hosting provider, which serves the Site and may keep basic server logs.

5. Data Retention

We keep the information you send us only for as long as needed to respond to you, deliver services you’ve requested, and meet legal or record-keeping requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we’ll respond as required by law.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
